Location:Born and raised in NYC, but the majority of my time is now spent at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland.
Age:18 and a freshman in college.
Sports: In high school I was a jockette...I played volleyball, basketball and track. I hope to somehow start playing volleyball in college, but I've been too intimidated to really try so far. We'll see. I've also played basketball for 12 years, and was on a phenomenal track team, setting various relay team records and some individual records. Sports were without a doubt one of the best things to happen to my in high school, and I miss playing so much. Currently, I sit on the sidelines and cheer for my Terps, especially in basketball and football.
Important things to know: In 2000, I was in a bus accident which I had to have knee surgery for. It also started my depression, which I'm still trying to fight.
Also, in late November of 2001, my mother read my journals and found out everything about me that I didn't want her to know, including how much I lied to her over the past year, all about my depression and the caffeine pills I was taking. It's caused some serious trust issues between us.
I also have severe little sister syndrome. I love my sister and brother more than anyone, but whenever I'm being compared to them, it makes me want to kill myself. Read about that funfest here.Books I'm Forcing You to Read:Watership Down, by Richard Adams. Holy God, this is the greatest book ever written. It's where I get a lot of my names from, including "Ali-rah." It's basically about rabbits trying to find a new home and survive in a harsh world, but it's so much more than that. More than I could ever describe. Adams also wrote the The Plague Dogs, which is also wonderful, though not quite as good as Watership Down. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. Fantastic. It took me a week to get past the first 2 pages because they were so boring, but the book is absolutely amazing.
Harry Potter. Well, duh. Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell. I've waited too long to read this book. Every girl has to read it.Random Facts: I'm 5'9 and have blue eyes, which are the best kind of eyes to have. I love all animals and one day want to own at least one golden retriever and a black horse named Braveheart. Not after the movie, but after my grandfather. Long story. I'm obsessed with anything and everything related to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. My music tastes vary greatly; I love everything from 20's music to today's. Except rap. I hate heavy rap. Heavy metal is ok. I'm half Scottish and damn proud of it. I'm also a practicing Catholic, although I have my own issues with the Church. I have a very hard time making any kind of decisions and have turned procrastination into an artform. My pet peeves include listening to people chew and swallow, red lights, any type of buzzing or beeping that resembles an alarm clock or busy signal, people who spell "lose" like "loose" and people who are closed-minded and stubborn. I love laughing, and a sense of humor is the biggest thing I look for in a guy. I also love clocks, snow globes, wearing jeans and a big comfy sweatshirt. I also love writing and reading. Hanging out with my friends is also another fun thing to do. I'm addicted to AOL. I'm aware of this. Watership Down by Richard Adams is the greatest book ever written. Go read it. Now. I have many scars on my body, including the ones from my surgery which look like vampire bites. I also have two on my chin, one in my mouth and a huge one on my forehead and my thigh. I'm very very accident prone. There are also several self-made scars on my arm. In high school I was pretty clean cut, as far as teenagers go. I didn't drink until college, and I've only tried pot once and didn't like it. I doubt I'll ever try it again. So yes. That's me, at a glance. Chances are I'll think of more stuff to add. ::Nodnod::
